C12200 is commercially pure copper that has undergone phosphorus deoxidation and has a relatively high residual phosphorus content. C12200 is not prone to hydrogen embrittlement, but due to its large phosphorus content, its conductivity is relatively low.

Copper tubing is nearly pure copper and is manufactured to the requirements of ASTM B 42 - Standard Specification for Seamless Copper Tubing, Standard Dimensions. It can be made from any of five (5) copper alloys (C10200, C10300, C10800, C12000, C12200) that meet the requirements for a minimum of 99.9% copper (Cu) and a maximum of 0.04% copper (Cu) The chemical composition of the alloy requires phosphorus (P). Available sizes are 1/8" to 12" diameter in regular wall thickness and 1/8" to 10" diameter in extra strong wall thickness. The standard length of copper tubing is 12 feet. Copper tubing is suitable for plumbing, boiler feed lines, refrigeration and similar applications.
Fittings in seamless copper tubing can be threaded, flanged, or brazed to fittings of appropriate fitting configuration.
